The process
With the help of an ID card or ID document scanner from DESKO, we first familiarized ourselves with the product and the previous software. User feedback on the previous application and important insights into workflows provided a good basis for the subsequent design phase. We developed wireframes and lo-fi prototypes, which we iteratively developed further with DESKO. The visual design seamlessly followed on from the concept phase. The final designs were gradually handed over to our colleagues at BAYOOTEC so that they could start development at an early stage.
The team
The project team combined expertise from concept, design and development and benefited from the collaboration between UID and BAYOOTEC. The close coordination with DESKO’s marketing and software ensured that the brand identity was consistently implemented and that the application was technically feasible. “This interdisciplinary collaboration was crucial to ensure a coherent and feasible end result,” says project manager Stefanie Angele from UID.
From concept to implementation: hand in hand to success
The direct collaboration between UID and BAYOOTEC enabled a seamless connection of concept and design with the technical implementation. The close exchange between the teams shortened coordination times and ensured an efficient transition from design to development. The result was the perfectly coordinated DESKO ID Analyze solution from a single source.
Clarity through movement: Animations improve usability
We use animations to make it easier to understand the instructions – especially when rectifying errors. These visualize the steps clearly and comprehensibly, making the processes easy to follow. A plus for the users of DESKO ID Analyze!
Scanning process made easy: Focus on user guidance
An important goal of the concept was to optimize user guidance through the scanning process. Clear instructions now guide users through every step, while continuous system feedback makes the progress of the scan transparent. Intuitive and effective at the same time!
Focus on the essentials: Optimized display of scan results
The reduced results view shows the most important information. At the same time, reviewers have the option of switching to a detailed analysis in order to use the full range of functions. This clear prioritization of content resulted from context of use interviews and our focus on the user perspective.
